I'm a writer/producer/director living in Los Angeles. Film is my life.
Along with Fuel Junkie, I've also written/produced/directed two other short films entitled White Trash and Vodka 7. White Trash recently had its World Premiere at the Chinese Theatre for the 2014 Dances With Films Film Festival and won 'Best Guerilla short' at the 2014 Action on Film Film Festival. Vodka 7 won 'Best Cinematography' at the WILDsound Film Festival in Toronto for June 2012 and screened at Tribeca Cinemas for the 2012 Big Apple Film Festival.
My LA crew and I are currently developing several projects. The biggest one of all is a horror/crime feature. It's a mix of Paris Texas, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Cormac McCarthy. Check out one of the teasers we made for it.
Some of my favorite films are Fingers, China Girl, Killing Zoe, Another Day in Paradise, Short Cuts, High and Low, The Proposition and my three favorite directors are Scorsese, Abel Ferrara and Jean-Pierre Melville.
Check out my directing reel.
Tobias Deml is a visual artist and filmmaker from Austria.
His interest in drawing and reading developed early on through comics and lack of a television set.
Being a teenage nerd, Tobias was exposed to many 3D computer graphics online. In November 2003, at the age of 14, he purchased his first 3D program (Cinema 4D) and a few months after, he delved into other visual fields such as image manipulation, photography and sketching - completely self-taught. Throughout high school, he worked on various freelance jobs in the area of animation, print, advertising and visualization.
In 2008, at the age of 18 and after graduating from high school, he served in a social service for one year in Los Angeles and Montreal to substitute his mandatory Austrian military service. During this year abroad, he discovered the magic of living among a foreign culture and decided to become a filmmaker, building on his seven years of self-taught visual art skills and his existing fascination for the collaborative process.
He studied film at Santa Monica College in Los Angeles, and went on to work on 50+ film projects as a Cinematographer, Director and Producer. He co-founded the LA-based production company Prodigium Pictures LLC in 2011, and is studying Film at UC Berkeley since 2013
Nao Sato is a Japanese film composer based in Los Angeles. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, he has been working as a professional composer and arranger. His recent works include "White Trash" directed by Chris von Hoffmann, which premiered at the Dances With Films Film Festival at the Chinese Theatre, and the musical "Sharjah Oratorio", which was recorded by 70-piece German Film Orchestra in Berlin.
Originally from the great state of Wisconsin, Chris has been in Los Angeles since June of 2012, mostly doing assistant editor work for shows like American Idol, Teen Wolf, American Ninja Warrior, MTV Movie Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, and more. He likes watching Game of Thrones, playing with his dog Rosie, and the Green Bay Packers. His favorite movie is Raging Bull, but Back to the Future is a close second.
